Why A Doula?

The word doula is an ancient Greek word meaning "a woman who serves". As a Christian woman, I believe it is my duty to serve God by serving others. As a doula, it is my job to offer support to women and their partners before, during and after childbirth. My goal is to help you have a safe, positive and empowering birthing experiences by providing you the information you need to make educated decisions, emotional support, as well as multiple comfort techniques needed during this time. Research continues to show the benefits of having continuous labor support, which include lowered risk of medical interventions such as Cesarean, Pitocin, forceps/vacuum delivery, a decrease in the use of pain medications, and an increase in the overall satisfaction with the birth experience.
